- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Cold. Ice cold. Dr. McCoy used fear to scold me about my weight gain. I have been cared for by a team of amazing doctors through my pregnancy. Each of them have been direct in approach yet reassuring at the same time. My baby is large but I do not have gestational or any other complications. I'm overweight and I accept responsibility for that. I could have been better about my choices of food while pregnant. I don't understand how in the final two weeks of a woman's pregnancy a Dr. Could be so lacking in compassion and so fear inducing. There is another Dr. At maternal fetal medicine, Dr. Jacoby . He is wonderful! I have seen him twice and he has been informative while warm and caring. If you have a choice I would stay far away from Dr. McCoy. I normally don't write reviews, especially negative ones but after spending the last 8 hours sobbing I made a decision to be positive and speak with my group of Drs. Today is a new day. - ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪This is my 2nd baby - first OB visit. Was told that I would have to have my first appt with a nurse practitioner...(pelvic exam, etc.) and that after she was done I would get to meet the doctor. Nope...the Dr. wasn't even there that day. I waited an hour to get into the room...unacceptable. The nurse practitioner was very nice "Diane" but I am a high risk pregnancy and I wanted to at least meet the OB. There must be 8-10 doctors on this staff and you are expected to rotate between them. Just not what I expected...very disappointing. I have an appt to meet the Dr. next week...if I don't get amazing warm fuzzies...then I'll be searching for someone else.
